The narrow strip of land on the east side of the railway from Chorlton Junction through to Throstle Nest was intended for quadrupling the railway tracks. Consequently only building of a temporary nature was permitted. The billboard advertises 'The Whips' which was probably a concert party for the week commencing Monday 20th June, 1910. This is Chorlton Pavilion and Winter Gardens.
