Closure of Chorlton Web Discussion Forums

the place on the chorlton bulletin board for vegetable-spread related chatter and other matters...it's the first, the best and it's currently hack free.

Closure of Chorlton Web Discussion Forums

Postby bufty1 » Sat Apr 01, 2017 10:01 am

After much deliberation and as a consequence of reducing member activity and relevance of the forum, we have unfortunately decided to close the Chorlton Web discussion platform on 1st May 2017.

If you want to keep up to date with Chorlton news and discussions we would suggest you join the Chorlton Facebook group.

Thanks to everyone for your support over the years.

The Chorlton Web team.

And thank YOU for hosting this site for the past 10(?) years - it has been a great resource and was the no 1 place for finding out about Chorlton news in its heyday IMHO.

But technology marches on - I wonder what will replace Facebook in 10 years time?

With sincere thanks,

Richard.

Yes, thanks for all the work you have put in. It used to be both entertaining and informative - a great way to spend the odd spare 10 minutes! I'll miss it.

Well thats a shame, but I can totally see why.

On the plus side I won't have to spend 15 minutes a week deleting Russian spam postings any more.

Bloody Facebooks... coming over here, ruining our forums. It's a plot , I say!

Sorry to see it go. Especially sorry to lose it as an archive of passing times. Thanks for hosting it though.

Be interesting to see who has the final post on the final thread. My money's on Annie, she always liked to have the last word. Or Louise.

Maybe we should have one last pointless spat, for old time's sake.

Then perhaps we should keep the forum open for post General Election celebrations.

Randomly logged on for the first time in years (moved out of Chorlton some time ago).

So long and thanks for all the hummus!
